Jon Pylypchuk

Jon Pylypchuk is a multidisciplinary artist who works in sculpture, painting an drawing. He was one of the founding members of the Royal Art Lodge, along with Marcel Dzama, Michael Dumontier, Neil Farber, Drue Langlois and Adrian Williams.

Working with simple, found or bought material including fake fur, wood, fabric, glitter, sheet metal, lightbulbs, foam, Pylypchuk constructs peculiar figures that exist somewhere between the animal and human, in a collage-like manner.

Jon Pylypchuk was born in 1972 in Winnipeg, Canada. He has a BFA from the University of Manitoba and an MFA from the University of California. The artist currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
