Dana Dal Bo: What We Choose to Disclose

December 1, 2017

In a conversation over Signal on December 1, 2017 from 9:00 AM – 11:44 AM MST, Dana Dal Bo messaged with Jessa Gillespie from dc3 Art Projects about her process, the internet, and practices of self-surveillance. This un-edited conversation has been documented via screenshot, shown below in its original format.

Dana Dal Bo is an emerging interdisciplinary artist. She recently completed an MFA in Fibres and Material Practices at Concordia University, and currently resides in Montreal, Quebec. Primarily utilizing the web, video, photography, and photographic printing processes, she addresses themes of voyeurism, exhibitionism, narcissism, and anxiety through a feminist lens. Currently, Dal Bo is showing two bodies of work – self-less and Carbon Copy – at dc3 Art Projects in the group exhibition Disclosures. Within this exhibition, three distinctive artists – Dana Dal Bo, Shan Kelley, and Dayna Danger – conduct explorations into what we choose to disclose, what comes with disclosing, and who holds the power to make disclosures.

Disclosures is open to the public from November 3 – December 16, 2017.
